About

Miriam Anzovin is the creator of the “Daf Reactions” series on Tiktok, exploring the juxtaposition of pop, nerd, and Jewish culture. Her work encourages her audience to engage with Jewish literature, history, and tradition in creative ways authentic to each individual, no matter their level of knowledge, belief, or observance. Miriam is thrilled to be the first artist-in-residence at Moishe House.

Programs

1
How to Encounter Jewish Texts Using the Miriam Anzovin Method
In this workshop, Miriam will walk participants through her unique 4-step method of encountering Jewish texts in a dynamic, engaging, and personal way. This is the method she uses in her own learning and in creating her viral TikTok videos. After teaching these steps and sharing how students can utilize them in their own learning, she will "give over" a text in her distinctive and funny style.
2
Jewish Texts as Jewish Identity
Miriam will speak openly about how her life experiences as a formerly Orthodox woman, and now secular Jew, led her to deep emotional engagement with Jewish text study. She will discuss her spiritual journey, Daf Yomi, the genesis of her viral TikTok videos, and being a "Talmud Influencer" in the public eye. Questions/ discussions with the audience are key elements of this program.
