About

Sharon has over 20 years of experience including serving as the first Orthodox woman chaplain at Harvard and Rosh Moshava at Camp Stone. She was recognized on the "Forward 50" list of Influential Jews. Sharon earned her PhD at NYU and MA and BA from YU. She consults with nonprofits on board management and fundraising. Ms. President: The Obligation for Women to Exercise Leadership in the Jewish Community
This session will explore rabbinic sources in order to open a discussion about the chiyuv (obligation) for women to exercise leadership in the Jewish community. We will also discuss the obligation of the community to empower women.

A Jewish Perspective on Sex
What the rabbis have to say about what goes on behind closed doors. This session will explore the rabbinic texts of a sex positive religion.

Can we Poo, Poo, Poo the Pew?
Since Jews arrived in America, the discussion of continuity, population growth, and assimilation remain front and center. This session explores why and factors to consider and highlights what IS working. This session will relay how to take the research, magic, impact, and lessons learned from the Jewish summer camp setting to the national landscape, no matter the season.

Board Approved: Navigating the Critical (Sometimes Treacherous) Road of Jewish Professionals and Board Members
As the field of Jewish nonprofits and education has matured, so has the emphasis on best practices, policies, and professionalism. The role of the board has also progressed, but the relationship remains complicated. It need not be! This session will explore the various appropriate levels of board engagement and how to ensure that the waters do not become murky with lessons from the trenches.

Booking Our Speakers

Weekday/Sunday programs are approximately one hour. Shabbat Scholar-in-Residence usually includes two talks, sometimes three.

Usually: The event price includes honorarium and all expenses, including international and domestic airfare and local expenses. We ask venues to provide home-hospitality for one night (for weekday/Sunday programs), or two nights (for Shabbat programs), or for multi-day programs, one night for each day of the event. If your venue is unable to provide home hospitality, an additional charge of $150 per night will be assessed to cover speaker expenses.
