Programs

1
My Israel
Sarah delves into the complexities and contradictions of the beautiful work in progress that is Israel, and celebrates all the wonderful people who are part of its stunning mosaic.
2
Jerusalem, a love story
After a terrifying night by Damascus gate when she was 18, Sarah vowed never to set foot in the Old City again. But years later, sick of living in fear, she returned to the place where time is measured by Sabbath candles, calls to prayer and church bells. In this talk Sarah discusses the importance of stepping beyond the shadow of fear into the full light of day to meet others doing the same.
3
How moving to Israel helped me enjoy being a mother so much more
When Sarah moved to Israel, she was your typical helicopter parent from LA, hovering over her kids. But living in Israel means letting go — for many reasons. And she’s having so much fun!
4
ISRAEL: On the Road
I love to take taxis in Israel because I love to talk to the drivers - like Gila who wears turquoise rings and brays when she laughs, or Yossi who knows all the words to every song by Tina Turner, or Ahmed,  who prays 5 times a day facing Mecca and speaks Yiddish. I love how each person on the road has such different stories about who they are and what they’ve seen, and where they want to go.

Booking Our Speakers

Weekday/Sunday programs are approximately one hour. Shabbat Scholar-in-Residence usually includes two talks, sometimes three.

Usually: The event price includes honorarium and all expenses, including international and domestic airfare and local expenses. We ask venues to provide home-hospitality for one night (for weekday/Sunday programs), or two nights (for Shabbat programs), or for multi-day programs, one night for each day of the event. If your venue is unable to provide home hospitality, an additional charge of $150 per night will be assessed to cover speaker expenses.

Need a special program for Shavuot, Holocaust Remembrence Day, or July 4th? We have suggestions.
