Programs

1
UNSTOPPABLE: Siggi Wilzig's Astonishing Journey from Auschwitz Nightmare to the American Dream
In this acclaimed lecture, Greene tells the story of Siggi Wilzig's rise from uneducated, penniless Auschwitz survivor to founder/CEO of an oil and banking empire with assets of more than $4 billion. Wilzig's uncanny instincts and outlandish tactics animate this unforgettable saga of a five-foot-short giant of Jewish resilience and chutzpah. Includes power point and 10-minute film.
2
JUSTICE AT DACHAU: The Largest War Crimes Trial in History
This riveting multimedia program reveals how an inexperienced Alabama lawyer successfully led the largest yet least-known series of Nazi war crimes trials in history. Nazi sympathizers threatened his life, and the U.S. government threatened his career for his refusal to serve a kangeroo court. Greene's dramatic recounting of this historic event in Jewish history leaves a lasting impression.
3
HITLER’S COURTS: The Misuse of Executive and Judicial Power
What happens when the legal establishment becomes the tool of a dictatorial government? This eye-opening talk reveals the consequences of appointing judges based not on their wisdom but on their allegiance to a head of state. The program includes a screening of Greene’s award-winning 35-minute documentary, “Hitler’s Courts” and an interactive discussion with attendees.
4
HOLLYWOOD AND THE HOLOCAUST: Fake News at its Worst
What is gained or lost when authors, playwrights and filmmakers appropriate the Holocaust for creative purposes? This program includes screening and analysis of popular books and Hollywood movies to reveal the fault lines in our most revered programs about the Holocaust—a timely reminder of what can happen when the fate of the Jewish people is downgraded to the status of entertainment.
5
MEMORY AFTER BELSEN: The Future of Holocaust Remembrance
How will the future remember the Holocaust? Which version will be presented? This screening and talk explores the challenges to Holocaust education and the impact of works such as Anne Frank's diary and Art Spiegelman's "Maus." The program follows the granddaughter of a survivor as she seeks to understand her bubbe’s experiences. We, the audience, discover the challenges to Holocaust remembrance.
