About

Adele Goldberg is the Executive Director of Friends of Yad Sarah, which supports the largest volunteer-led social services organization in Israel. Her expertise covers the healthcare and social services landscape in Israel, and how Jewish groups around the world can copy the Yad Sarah model -- from home health and medical equipment loans, to cultivating volunteerism and advancing community.

Programs

1
Home Hospital Services
Makes home care equipment and support services available at low (or no) cost for everyone from moms and babies, seniors and families, to factory workers and members of Knesset. As part of the program, Yad Sarah offers home delivery of the equipment, and sends a representative on a regular basis to check up on the patients’ physical and emotional well being as they adjust to home care.
2
Medical Equipment Loan
More than 320,000 loans of 150 different kinds of medical equipment a year to people in need (from wheelchairs to breast pumps); more than 92,000 equipment repairs at Yad Sarah’s Equipment Maintenance Centers.
3
Tourist Services
Yad Sarah for Tourists provides personalized services that enable people with special needs to fulfill their dream of visiting Israel. For more information, please visit friendsofyadsarah.org, find the menu item entitled “Going to Israel?” and click!
4
Day Rehab
Yad Sarah's day rehab is comprehensive, offering physical and occupational therapy, music, art, gardening, movement and other kinds of therapy, meals and social events, provided daily for the severely disabled, old or young, especially those recovering from terrorist attacks or accidents.
5
Family Center
Yad Sarah’s Family Center treats domestic violence victims and their families, from all sectors of society in Israel. The Center opened its doors 17 years ago in Jerusalem, and now has a branch in the western Negev.

Booking Our Speakers

Weekday/Sunday programs are approximately one hour. Shabbat Scholar-in-Residence usually includes two talks, sometimes three.

Usually: The event price includes honorarium and all expenses, including international and domestic airfare and local expenses. We ask venues to provide home-hospitality for one night (for weekday/Sunday programs), or two nights (for Shabbat programs), or for multi-day programs, one night for each day of the event. If your venue is unable to provide home hospitality, an additional charge of $150 per night will be assessed to cover speaker expenses.

Need a special program for Shavuot, Holocaust Remembrence Day, or July 4th? We have suggestions.
